Working With Us
Weather
As you may know, the weather in the UK isn’t always predictable. Most of our work depends on decent, dry weather. So sometimes we have to give short notice – as little as one hour sometimes – to re-schedule a job. We understand that this can be frustrating for customers, but is sometimes out of our hands.
This is usually because of several reasons, the first being safety, slips and falls and health. Being soaking wet and cold all day can cause serious health problems. The second reason is our tools: we spend thousands of pounds a year upgrading our tools.
Couriers
For a lot of our materials, we use couriers or suppliers. Some materials are too big or too heavy for us to transport in our work vans, so we use large couriers and suppliers to deliver the materials for the job. Problem is, sometimes they run late or have sudden issues themselves we we cannot help.
So sometimes, we have to re-schedule the work to another day with short notice. We understand that this can be frustrating. We always use our trusted suppliers, but some jobs are unique and the materials have to be ordered elsewhere sometimes.
Working Days
Our working days are usually Monday to Friday, but on the odd occasion we will sometimes work Saturdays. We usually start between 8am and 9am, sometimes 7:30am. It can vary from job to job. We usually finish between 4pm and 5pm. We appreciate sometimes customers cannot be home and work too.
In some cases, we may need to leave customers with an extension lead to plug in before they head out to work, that’s only if they are leaving before we start work, but please let us know – we will organise it between us and work things out.
Scaffolding
Some jobs require scaffolding for many reasons – the main ones being safety and access. We use our regular and trusted scaffolders, our costs for this should always be included in the works, but if not, then the customer may be organising it. The scaffolders will usually need access a day or two before we start.
If there are any issues with the scaffolding or scaffolders, please let the scaffolders know direct if possible and they will be happy to help. Once the work is completed we will organise with them when it suits you to come and take it down.
Noise
A lot of the jobs we do create some noise. We always stick to the guidelines and laws with noise, so if your customers complain, we will be polite and explains hat to them. Sometimes we suggest to let your neighbours know about works going on before we start, so that there are no issues or conflict.
We always contact, research and reference to the local councils guidelines on work times and noise. We keep the noise to the minimum and only use noisy tools etc. when needed. Rest assured we won’t be on your roof playing the drums.
